The Danger of Drifting - How instability can stall success

Thursday, June 29th, 2006

Hi All!
First off, let me start by saying it’s another magnificent day here in paradise, in Boulder, Colorado.
Now with that said, I’m doing my best not to go stir-crazy as I wait-out my temporary haitus from training. I think I’m doing quite well, it’s actually been delightfully relaxing…of course I’m upping the dosage of meditaiton […]

Scared Silly

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

No fear? Yes, I have no fear, I know everything WILL work out. But what I just found out was shocking (at least to me).
After my "run" I iced the heck out of things before crawling over to the gym on my bike. My patellar tendon on the vacationing leg didn’t feel quite right, but […]

Race Doggies! But I’ll get ‘em next time!!!

Wednesday, June 28th, 2006

As I’m writing this, I’m first wrestling with ice packs to get them strapped all up and down my feet and legs.
I ended up racing my dogs this morning on our morning hike/crutch/run or whatever it is.
They won, of course.
I think I’m sore in a place or two I didn’t know I had.
Well, […]

Ahhhhh, what a beautiful day.

Today was such a gift…I cannot believe I am so lucky.
It was such a dream day.
I rose just after 4…crawled downstairs, ate breakfast, then meditated.
Then I (struggled) through half an hour of pilates…followed by dancing (with crutch) to a bit of Shakira, Matisyahu, and the Blues Travelers.
This was followed by a magnificent 4 mile hike…during […]

A triathlon a day keeps the doctor away!

Monday, June 26th, 2006

Good morning everyone,
It’s a happy monday, and I’m about to go into my meditation. Then it’s 30 minutes of pilates and out for my "run" or single crutch. I’ve been building up the length of my "runs" with the single crutch over the last week. Today’s goal is 6 or more miles.
Yesterday was a "recovery" […]

Quiet Saturday Morning :-)

Saturday, June 24th, 2006

Good morning everyone!
It’s been a busy week, and my blog has slipped a bit behind me.
Where’s the time gone?
It’s been a combination of writing, writing, writing, training, rehab, and Japanese practice.
Oh, and did I mention, writing?
I’ve been working on a magazine article, my college guide-book, and I was inspired to start another book yesterday. I’m […]

Learning Japanese - Sugoi!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, June 22nd, 2006

Konnichiwa!
I’ve been working on my Japanese a lot lately (everybody needs a hobby, right?) and I think I’ve finally gotten over a hump. So far, I’ve been memorizing vocabulary, forgetting it, and then rememorizing it again. But now I finally know enough that I can practice basic conversations, which helps reinforce what I know. I […]

My hammies will barely ham

Sunday, June 18th, 2006

It’s time for me to meditate. I’m about two hours "late" in starting my day. I believe in rewarding my body, soul, and mind when necessary, and today, it’s necessary.
There’s this little thing called "flexibility" it’s important in life, it’s important in relationships, and it’s important for our health.
Has anyone seen my flexibility? I can’t […]
