THANKS!!!

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

I wish to thank all of the organizers, volunteers, and supporters during the Bolder Boulder for an amazing event and the Daily Camera for their recent article “Tough Road Ahead for Walker.” Crutching the 10 kilometers was an incredible experience punctuated by the fantastic support the article generated. I wish to also thank the terrific […]

By Camera staff
May 31, 2006
More milestones that participants in the 28th annual Bolder Boulder accomplished Monday:
Michael Sandler, of Boulder, became the fastest to finish the race on crutches, with a time of 1 hour, 42 minutes, 31 seconds.
Bolder Boulder spokeswoman Nancy Kauffold said no one ever had crutched the 10K race in less […]

DOMS

Wednesday, May 31st, 2006

I’m not one to complain, I am grateful for every minute of every hour of every day. Is there pain in my body…sure, tons, but I really don’t notice it, I’m too busy enjoying the world around me.
But today is kicking my butt. It’s not that I’m enjoying the world any less, I still enjoyed […]

Hi Everyone!
I’m having a hard time updating my blog at the moment. I’m exhausted, though in a good way. I’m happy and sad, elated and sorrowful, I’m just experiencing a wide-spectrum of emotions.
And I love all of them, they make me feel alive.
This morning I had a beautiful walk. I went 4 miles. Halfway through […]

Hmmmm.

Sunday, May 28th, 2006

It’s 5:45 on Sunday, I’ve done my morning meditation and 10 minutes of pilates (working on getting back into it with the new and improved body).
I’m wearing my GPS watch this morning. I’m very curious. How fast is a 2 hour, 10k pace?
Stay tuned and find out.
This could be an interesting experience.
There’s a beautiful amber […]

Help! I’m in a vacuum.

While I love the article that the Daily Camera wrote on this journey and cause today, they didn’t mention a way to find this website. This is not the first time this has happened, so it’s a bit disappointing. On the other hand, it’ll push me to get the message out even more, so everything […]

The hole in my hand

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

It’s not big, but today is the perfect day to let it heal. I woke up this morning a bit sore, and two days before a “race” is a great day to rest.
Without rest, it’s often hard (or impossible) for the body to recover. I’ve had blisters form and then callous over on my hand […]

Yowwie Zowwie!!!

Friday, May 26th, 2006

Gee, there’s something I never thought about or expected. As I swam today, only my third time with my cast off, a wide-arm from the next lane connected with a fist into my healing arm. In half-shock, I swam for the wall, where I remained for a few minutes, quiet and composes, before relaxing my […]

If I can do it, YOU CAN TOO!!!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Thank you to Sean McDonald and the Boulder Daily Camera for the amazing interview today!
I hope what I’m doing will inspire a few people on Monday. We can all achieve our goals, we can all reach for our dreams, and we can all do things we never thought we were capable of.
All we need to […]

Zoiks!

Thursday, May 25th, 2006

Somewhere along the way, time has started flying by again. I am BUSSSSSY. Now that’s not a bad thing, I quite enjoy it, but it’s making it harder to get to some things (like the blog) as quickly as I’d like.
As I write this, I’m running out the door to the Boulder Daily Camera, hoping […]
